Arne Jacobsen Egg and Swan Chairs
Guest post by HRH Rowena YID with PrimaDonna WYID

Arne Jacobsen (1902–1971) initially trained as a mason before studying architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Arts. He is the designer most associated with and responsible for the Danish Modern style.

Jacobsen designed the Swan Chair in 1958 for the lobby and reception areas at the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. As with the Egg Chair, the Swan Chair is distinguished by the omission of any straight lines in its design-only curves. Over 50 years after this chair was introduced it is still widely used in high end contemporary residential, as well as corporate lounge furniture.
