Jil WYID: Sarah, I have noticed that you have a very diverse sense of style, from playful, to fantasy, to elegant. How would you describe a typical ‘Sarah’ design?
Sarah WYID: Sarah is an elegant young woman, on the one hand and a big kid who loves to play with design, on the other. Of course, as in real life, it all depends on how inspired I am and what inspires me. In YoVille we are offered different themes and each new theme gives me new inspirations and a sense for its style. I prefer not to combine styles, color coordinate a room, always create a main point of interest, and strive to create something original. If I had to choose between playful, fantasy, elegant or from any other styles, I would chose elegant.

Jil WYID: You have won the Official YoVille Contest nine times! What is the secret to your success?
Sarah WYID: The answer is simple. You need to have a little bit of talent, be imaginative, invest a lot of effort, work, and time, and try to be original.
Jil WYID: For the last two months YoVille has not posted any new contests, what are your views about that?
Sarah WYID: I miss the competition very much. It gives me extra motivation and awakes my imagination. Also, I enjoy watching other designers’ rooms. I don’t understand why YoVille needs so much time to start new contests when the profile update problem has already been solved. I hope it will begin again soon!

Jil WYID: How do you begin, prepare, and inspire yourself before creating an award winning room?
Sarah WYID: First of all, I think about what would be ‘original’ as an entry for the contest that would reflect my own style and taste. The YoVille room contests have a lot of room entries and I know that I need to create something that will stand out from the others. I like thinking about the design before I fall asleep. Also, I love to view images on the Internet and from different books. Actually, I do not know how I would describe how I begin, prepare and inspire myself, somehow it all comes out from my inner depths.
Jil WYID: The new ‘Hollywood Movie’ theme has recently been released in YoVille. What are your thoughts about it? Which are your favorite?
Sarah WYID: I think that the new “Hollywood Movie” theme and items provide an opportunity for a variety of designs and allows great freedom of choice. My favorite is “Hollywood Epic Romance”. I love epic poetry. In contrast to lyric poetry, epics describe events, people, experiences and landscapes. Epic works have a rich and complex narrative which follow the adventures of Heroes who are often entangled in romantic situations. Romance and love is something you should cherish regardless of the time in which we live. The fact is, today many consider romance outdated. But in my opinion, an Epic Romance offers more inspiration than most of the other themes.
Jil WYID: When shopping for items for a room, how do you go about deciding and choosing them?
Sarah WYID: I like to go shopping very much! First, when new items are released, I buy all the items that I like according to the funds which I have. I don’t think about what items I will be needing for my new room. After shopping, I try to visualize what the room will look like and how I will make use of the items which I have purchased. Somehow I always tend use all my purchases.
Jil WYID: Please share with our readers a few of your design Tips & Tricks.
Sarah WYID: When you create a room, try to fill in black areas accordingly to what you have planned for the room. When new items are released, check to see which of them can be placed on the black areas.
My favorites are white lamps and brass picture frames. If you have enough funds, purchase multiple frames and position them to create one large one. After that, find a picture to insert and assemble as a puzzle. Your room will look great and original with that extra large picture.
With white lamps, which are inexpensive, you can create almost anything.
Free gifts are also very good for building or creating pictures, especially those smaller ones.
Most of the shelves can be used to build stairs which creates levels in the room.
And for me, it is important to take a look and view the room from YoVille.com profile page. Sometimes you think that your room looks great but when you see it in your profile, you will be able to spot all the flaws.

Jil WYID: Sarah, If a past theme were to be re-released in YoVille, Which, in your opinion should it be?
Sarah WYID: Mafia and Victorian. The first theme that impressed me was the Mafia theme. I think that the Mafia house is unsurpassed as is most of Mafia furniture like the Canopy Bed, Bar, Dinning Table, French Windows and of course the Mafia Pillars.The Mafia theme for me represents a turning point in YoVille.
In real life, I like the Victorian style and homes very much. The Victorian furniture in YoVille were very elegant. I think that we need more furniture from this theme to make our homes complete, kitchen items, great images, sculptures, fireplace, windows, rugs, pillars,…etc.
